One Post Changed Everything

A few weeks ago I shared how one LinkedIn post by an almost random AI expert led me to Bali...to a room full of faith-driven founders building businesses at Digital Mission Ventures

I came back with pages of notes and a heart inspired to keep building. And that random guy agreed to be our mentor as we are building a tech-enabled business with an AI software.

I was reminded of the power of partnerships. The panelists were answering a question on how to work with the right partners.

And this one line reframed everything for me:

With the right partners, we can make the pie bigger.

Simple. But it changes how you approach every collaboration, every partnership, every community you join.

Abundance vs Scarcity: The Mindset That Determines Your Collaboration Strategy

Most people approach partnerships from a place of scarcity without realising it.

Scarcity thinking sounds like: what do I get out of this? Will they take my clients? What if they outgrow me? Who will gain more from this partnership? It makes you protect your slice instead of growing the whole thing.

Abundance thinking sounds like: what can we build together that neither of us could build alone?

When both partners show up with abundance, the pie gets bigger. Not just your slice. The whole pie.

Adopt an abundance mindset. And if the right partner shows up, together you make a bigger pie. After all, a rising tide lifts all boats. Instead of compete, let's collaborate.

I am a big believer in right time, right place, right people. Our vibes attract our tribes (yes, that is how we got the name Vibe Tribe!). The right collaborations happen because you show up as someone worth collaborating with.

This is true whether you are a solopreneur building a personal brand, a founder growing a startup, or a leader looking to expand your influence in your industry.

How to Find the Right Collaborator

Before you commit to any partnership, here is a practical framework to evaluate it:

  • Do your due diligence. What does each person bring to the table — skills, audience, credibility, network? Are the contributions complementary or overlapping? Is there a clear reason why this works better together than apart?

  • Look for genuine alignment. Do you share the same values? Would you be proud to have your name next to theirs?

  • Watch for abundance signals. Do they talk about others generously or constantly position against competitors? Do they refer freely or hoard their network? When something good happens for someone else in their space, do they celebrate or get the sour grapes syndrome?

  • Observe the small things. Trust is built in the mundane moments, not the big ones. A good partner follows through, communicates clearly, and keeps their word on the little things. Partnerships are a daily practice, not just a meeting.

  • Notice how they make you feel. The right partner makes you feel expansive, not contracted. Energised, not drained. If being around them shrinks your thinking and energy, that is your answer.

How Collaboration Became Vibe Tribe's Growth Engine

Our pipeline of events all made possible because we collaborate and say yes to others

Vibe Tribe is a young business. We help leaders get seen, trusted, and chosen on LinkedIn.

In just 4 months, we have built a following, filled our first Opportunity Magnet Accelerator cohort, and put together a speaking and events calendar that I am genuinely proud of. And our growth is purely organic, with zero ads so far.

How? Collaborations.

We cross-pollinate. We cross-refer. We show up for each other's audiences and trust that generosity compounds. When a partner's community needs what we offer, they open the door. When our community needs what they offer, we do the same. We build together rather than compete and believe that what goes around comes around.

Your action prompt this week: be the rising tide

Identify one person whose work complements yours. Reach out and connect.

Show up publicly for a collaborator or a potential one. Comment, share, tag.

Know your collaboration value. Be clear on what you bring before you show up.
